Our thinking mind is quite new in terms of our evolution. When we feel fear, our thinking mind does its best to make sense of it... but will often elaborate subjectively and go off on scary tangents. This process is also known as 'anxiety', i.e. the process in which we try to think our way into feeling safe.
Meanwhile, behind the many scenes and stories of the thinking mind, the body sounds its alarm. Our body has a beautiful way of speaking to us via sensations, some subtle, some strong, for example, a sensation of having 'butterflies in our stomach'.
Our body's more primitive nervous system subconsciously remembers times when we didn't feel safe, (emotionally or physically), and is on alert for us for 'threats' of a similar nature. If our nervous system feels unsafe (e.g. deadlines, disagreements), it will enter into 'survival mode' or 'fight/flight'. For some people this may look like keeping very busy/not being able to rest (flight), getting frustrated all the time (fight), feeling stuck and unable to speak clearly (freeze), or becoming numb (shut down).
A lot of talk therapy is based on challenging our thoughts, however when we are in survival mode, we don't often have the capacity to think clearly as we are contending with a system millions of years older than the thinking mind. My work with you is going straight to the source. I help you work with this ancient system, by soothing the alarm in the body, and bringing your body back to safety again. From there, the mind will follow.
Our sessions are an invitation to do just that.
At the start of your session, you’ll be warmly welcomed into the treatment room and made to feel comfortable and at ease. (There’s always room for a bit of laughter too).
Jasmin meets you where you are at on your healing journey - i.e. whether you’ve had other forms of therapy or otherwise. Jas provides a safe and welcoming space that is shame-sensitive and free of judgement.
Jasmin understands that often clients need to have the chance to speak and be heard, yet also feel rested and calm in their bodies and nervous systems. Kinesiology is a mind and body modality, so we have the benefit of working with both body and mind, via intuitive talk therapy and body work combined.
Depending on how you feel on the day, you may wish to start your session in the counselling chairs where you can release your mental load, be heard and be guided to understanding the deeper layers of your experience. As a result, clients often gain a greater consciousness of their subconscious patterns, behaviours, emotions and beliefs, leaving the session with enhanced awareness and clarity.
Alternatively, you may wish to start your session on the therapy bed where your body can do the talking. With body work, Jas helps regulate her client’s nervous systems using intuitive touch, acupressure and harmonic techniques. With the body calm and the mind settled, subconscious stress can be calmly accessed and resolved. Clients begin to understand the language of their bodies, nervous systems, as well as the energy of emotion and where it is stored. The body tells a story, and via Kinesiology and Mind Body Medicine, both you and Jasmin will be able to understand what your symptoms are saying.
Being a client-centred modality, clients feel empowered and part of the process. Rather than being seen to under a specific/set framework, there are infinite ways a Kinesiologist can work with their client, tailored to their individual needs. Over time, you may find yourself more connected, and able to listen to the inner healer within.
Clients often report feeling clear and calm after their sessions with Jas.
Jas loves working with all genders, ages, ethnicities and abilities.
"If I could give Jas more than 5 stars I would. Her purpose, her authenticity, her healing spirit; you see it all in her practice. It's been so reassuring and empowering to work with that kind of energy. Jas has been incredibly effortless to trust and connect with, which has felt essential whilst working with such vulnerable aspects of myself. I began seeing Jas 3 months ago and in such a short amount of time I have found so much clarity in my subconscious beliefs and it's conscious behaviours. I embraced kinesiology and sessions with Jas as a last resort after years of unsuccessful doctors appointments and couldn't be happier with the progress we've made and the results I can already see. I'd recommend Jas to clients of any age and background. It's been an absolute pleasure xo"

Do you get the feeling that there's something more to your symptoms?
When working with me, we look beyond your symptoms to identify unresolved subconscious stress. This is because anything unresolved on a conscious level, will eventually manifest in the subconscious body. Symptoms such as chronic pain and anxiety don't just exist in isolation!
At Inner Wisdom Kinesiology in Marrickville and Thirroul, I work with people experiencing stress, anxiety, digestive issues and chronic pain. My work with children focuses on anxiety, reactive behaviours, hypersensitivity and delayed milestones.
Kinesiology uses holistic talk therapy, biofeedback, nervous system toning body work, energetic healing, acupressure, and guided visualisations to create effective change in both mind and body.
Your individual treatment plan will depend on what we're focusing on, and can range from three to multiple sessions.
Many clients seek the support of a continuing therapeutic relationship and will see me monthly for a year or more as we work through issues as they arise.
Treatment times also depend on whether you are fully ready for your healing journey. I provide a completely judgement-free and safe space for you to share as little or as much as you feel comfortable, and our pace will always be guided by you.
Generally there is a two week period between the first and second sessions.
